On Thursday 10th March, Tata Limited hosted the second UK-based Tata Reception at London's Royal Horticultural Halls. The evening, which came a week after Tata Founder's Day, was a showcase of the Tata group's reach within the UK and Europe, with nine Tata companies hosting interactives stand that revealed their current focus and capabilities.
The invited guests, including company leaders, MPs and representatives of the academic world, were welcomed by Dr David Landsman, Director of Tata Limited, and Anna Soubry MP, Minister for Small Business, Industry and Enterprise.
TMETC displayed the new Tata Tiago, which made its debut at the Delhi Auto Show in February. The Tata Reception was the first time that the majority of the invited guests had seen a Tata-branded vehicle. The Tata Tiago features class-defining driving dynamics, with a new Revotron 1.2L petrol engine and the debut of the first Revotorq .05L diesel engine.
Exhibits on display by other Tata companies included a number of interactive experiences by Tata Chemicals, including live glass sculpting, to demonstrate the innovative products that Tata Chemicals Europe manufactures. Jaguar Land Rover showcased the Jaguar Land Rover Academy, part of the company's plan to create a more progressive manufacturing and learning environment, and Tata Global Beverages brought its Farmer Field Schools initiative with the Ethical Tea Partnership to life using an interactive classroom.
