TMETC supports the inaugural Tata Reception with UK debut of Tata Nexon

On Tuesday 4th November, Tata Limited, the Tata group's representative in Europe, hosted the first Tata Reception at London's Science Museum. The evening, which is planned to be an annual event that will eventually coincide with March's Tata Founder's Day, was a showcase of the Tata group's reach within the UK and Europe, with each Tata-owned company being invited to host an interactive stand and reveal their history and capabilities.

The invited guests, including company leaders, MPs and representatives of the academic world, were welcomed by Dr David Landsman, Director of Tata Limited, and Dr Vince Cable, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills.

TMETC displayed the Tata Nexon concept vehicle at the entrance of the Science Museum, which was the first time that the majority of the guests had seen a Tata-branded vehicle. This was also the UK debut of the Tata Nexon, and it was supported by an augmented reality app that allowed guests to see a breakdown of the Tata Nexon, from its exterior down to its powertrain.

Also on display by TMETC was a visualisation of the evolution of the Design department and its concept vehicles, information on TMETC revealing its capabilities, history and achievements, and data on the National Automotive Innovation Centre showcasing what this state-of-the-art facility will be capable of when it opens in 2017.

Exhibits on display by other Tata companies included a tasting demonstration from different tea-buying regions by Tata Global Beverages, a showcase entitled 'The Inside Story' explaining how Tata Chemicals Europe's products are used in everyday life, and a video-led display of its 'intelligent self learning' by Jaguar Land Rover.
