Connected vehicle and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

TMETC's AE department has been leading the development of a new generation of infotainment systems for Tata Motors' future vehicles. This has focussed on the development of in-house Infotainment architecture with the following:

  • Tata Motors-owned IP
  • Commoditization of sub-modules
  • Facilitate make to print from suppliers
  • Enhanced features such as dual view, iPod connectivity, text to speech
  • Ability to include EV and Hybrid vehicle requirements
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems

Building on the knowledge development from the EU FP7 collaborative project, E-Future, TMETC's AE department continues to develop skills and knowledge in ADAS, including autonomous vehicle development. Conceptual work involved significant collaborations with suppliers, technology and academic partners to accelerate the development of such systems.

The E-Future project has enabled development of:
  • ADAS capabilities
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Autonomous emergency braking
  • Lane departure warning
  • Pedestrian detection
  • Knowledge of torque vectoring and independent wheel drive
